Research Topic
Zaddock's project is focused on creating a viral system through which replication-incompetent HIV can selectively deliver a gene to a target cell type. By pseudotyping an HIV core with non-HIV glycoproteins containing epitopes known to bind to human cellular proteins, we believe we can modify the virus's tropism to target cells expressing specific markers. The goal is to create a new form of gene delivery technology with high specificity for use in gene and cancer therapy.
